Sangiang Beach Boat Building Location : East of Sumbawa Island Indonesia

Sangeang beach is located on the north part of East Sumbawa Island, around 70 Km from the town of Bima, Capital of East of Sumbawa.

Sangeang beach has been long time for boat building location in Indonesia, Most of the tribe of sangeang known and learn they skills from the Immigrants of Buginese Konjos of Bulukumba for over 200 years ago.

There is also many Konjos Tribe from Bulukumba who lived and married to the sangeang tribes and suttled in Sangeang beach and continue boats building on this location,

Due to the location, Sangeang should be the best places to building the wooden boats, the beach is only 1.5 Km long and its black sand.

The wood is quite easy to get for boats building, Iron Wood ( Kayu Besi ) still come from Borneo, Central and Southeast of Sulawesi and Papua. The cost is much cheaper then building your boats in Tana Beru in Bulukumba of SOuth Sulawesi.

All tools and materials come from The town of Bima, Lombok, Bali and Surabaya of East Jawa. The transportation is very conviniences as there is big harbor in Bima and also airport where you can travel from Bali or Lombok to Sumbawa Island.

If you like to build your boat in Indonesia., we highly recommend you to choose Sangeang Beach for its best location and cost while Tanah Beru become very commercial and cost its too high since all contractor rise up the prices very high and charge people double.
